Award winning environmental film maker teaches in Stepping Stone
Hein Ungerer is the lead trainer for single-camera courses in the Stepping Stone outreach video training programme. Hein teaches documentary storytelling, story focus and story structure. He has been in radio and television broadcasting for 30 years. Hein has won several local and international awards. He spent half of this time working for the SABC and the other half working mainly as a freelance investigative journalist/producer for M-Net's Carte Blanche. The story he is probably best known for is the expose he did on the 'Tuli Elephant' scandal. Hein has run television and filmmaking workshops at institutions including: AFDA, Big Fish School of Digital Filmmaking, SAE Institute and the Centre for Film and Media Studies at UCT. He recently started presenting after hours workshops in conjunction with UCT-TV and the SAE Institute.
